Let's Talk About Music: Moral or Immoral?

Every song you listen to will always contain a MORAL or IMMORAL message. Just take a look at the meaning of each of these two words and ponder. I'm pretty sure that after doing so you will filter what goes in to your ears.

MORAL: concerned with the principles of right and wrong behavior and the goodness or badness of human character
Synonyms ethical, social, honorable, honest, just, noble, incorruptible, having to do with right and wrong.

IMMORAL: not conforming to accepted standards of morality
Synonyms - unethical, bad, morally wrong, wrongful, wicked, evil, foul, unprincipled, unscrupulous, dishonorable, dishonest.

Food for thought.

Very helpful. When it comes to music we must be very cautious and vigilant as to what music we listen too because it can either help us spiritually, or, it can destroy us. The beauty of this is that the decision lies in our hands, and we'll be held accountable for our actions.

Thanks for sharing, I'll be keeping this in mind next time I listen to the radio.

Hi Pastor Luke,

I agree, every song contains a message, and the more we listen to these songs the more the message is repeated and our minds began to follow it or believe in it, therefore we need to choose to listen to the right kind of music that is spiritual and strengthens our faith. Thank you or this message.

Sincerely,
Kenia Rivas

The notion of morality has been forgotten by youths. "Good morals" are now old fashioned and inadequate to a modern "free" society.
It's like Evelyn Higginbotham once said, people think of themselves as being so "open-minded" but in reality they start losing the reasoning behind the things they support. Their minds are so open that their brains just fell out and they can't even think properly...

We can also look at the purpose of the song. Some songs are merely to advocate someones egocentric desires, others to express their frustrations and hatred, some songs just fill your head with doubts and questions that lead to nowhere, and the list goes on and on.

These songs are selfish and focused on fame, money and a life with no self control. These songs do not build your character, they destroy it.

Amazingly, we can end up being the songs we hear all the time. Sooner or later it will come to surface and shape our lives somehow.
