YPG Summer Camp

Every year the YPG hosts a summer camp trip. Each state where the YPG is based, from California all the way to NY, invests in what is considered the climax of events in the YPG calendar for each year.

Here in Texas we do that too. Last year we went to Mo-Ranch in Kerville, TX.

Next week Monday we'll be off to Mo-Ranch again. It's a beautiful place to be.

However, our main objective is not to enjoy the breathtaking scenery but to get closer to the Creator of that amazing landscape.

It's 4 1/2 hours away from Houston, right in the middle of nowhere.

No gadgets of any sort are allowed. The only thing allowed is your Bible. Four days away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. Not only that, away from any sort of distraction.

It's 4 days dedicated to building a close relationship with God. It's FANTASTIC!

We've had some youths telling us they will never forget the experiences they had in the previous years.

The time they spent getting to know each other in order to build a strong and firm connection is worth the time. We are like a huge family after camp is over.

It's worth the money invested. I'd say the 4 days spent there is equivalent to a month and half of pure dedication to strengthening our faith.

Each year we have a different theme. This time the theme is Luke 10:27, from the epistle of Luke in the Bible.

I know for sure that those going camp this year won't regret it.

What about you?

Will come with us next year?

Heroes of Faith

There's a place in Hollywood called Walk of Fame,
where the most prestigious celebrities
display their names besides many other accolades.

Celebrities in general strive to be well recognized by the public
and have their names engraved on the Walk of Fame,
a perishable prize I must say.

By the way, so others can tread upon it.

Anyways, I'm not here to talk about the fake but the
REAL HALL OF FAME.  It's in Hebrews, chapter 11.
Oh yes, the stuff you find their is awesome. It's jaw-dropping.

Therefore, we are starting a series of meetings (for the next 5 weeks)
titled HEROES OF FAITH. It starts this week,
at your local YPG branch.

If celebrities strive for recognition and a name engraved on the floor,
why don't we strive to accomplish what these great
men and women did in the past?

YPG Mission

By watching the video below you'll
understand why the YPG has the
mission to use Facebook and Twitter
to reach out to other youths.

And after watching it, what will you do?

Two groups. One choice. Where do you stand?

Did you know that only 5% of you will really make a difference? The other 95% are maybe thinking about things which are not really profitable to you... and this is not something I'm making up. This is real.

Everywhere you look you see people and people, teachers and teachers, lawyers and lawyers, doctors and doctors, and etc. People you can count on and people who are just there for the money. This difference applies to all professions.

For example, most bus drivers don't even want to look at you and are rude, but then you are surprised when you find one who is polite and cheerful.

"Did you know that only 5% of you will really make a
difference?..."

There are many names in the Bible, but there are only a few you are familiar with - Jesus, Abraham, Paul, Moses etc. Why? Because they are the ones that made a difference. They make up the 5%.

This fact also applies to people's spiritual lives. There are many people in the youth group, many who pray, many who call themselves a 'youth of God', but few who are making a difference - and few will be saved.

So now the question is, which group do you belong to? The 95% who only come to the meeting to sleep or to flirt, who use the youth meetings as an excuse to get away from home, or the 5% who are ready to sacrifice. It's not the teacher, the pastor, your parents or even God who chooses, it’s you - you make yourself chosen.

The problem is that many youths know what they should be doing but they don't act, so they end up in the 95%. What are you doing and what do you want? It’s time to wake up!

"...Now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy." (Romans 13.11-13)

Paul is warning the Romans to wake up from their spiritual sleep - to stop living carelessly, just taking care of day-to-day obligations and forgetting that Jesus is coming back! If at that time Paul said 'salvation is nearer than when we first believed' and he lived such a long time ago, how much closer are we to it today?

Dear friends, make yourself part of the 5%. WAKE UP to what God is doing! God is putting the finishing touches on the work of salvation He began. We can't afford to waste another minute, so 'cast off the works of darkness'. Don't give room for your flesh to work.

If you could do whatever you wanted right now, what would that be? Most probably the opposite of what God wants because that's what the flesh wants. When you understand the will of God, you make no provisions for the flesh.
