Stop Doubting. Believe and Go for It!

Many times you seek the presence of God during the service but immediately after the prayer you start to doubt and ask questions about whether or not you’ve received the Holy Spirit.

If you indeed left everything behind for a new life, so life is new! Stop diminishing yourself and looking at yourself as just one more. BELIEVE! That’s what makes the difference.

When a person believes they have the Holy Spirit and truly decides to leave the old life behind, they are already telling themselves that they are no longer the same; that they are new and strong to overcome.

The Holy Spirit then enables them. He makes us strong regardless of colour, race, culture, skills etc...And once He comes upon a person that is it. No one can stop that person.

“In short, you push yourself to do what is good and run away
from what is bad. By doing so you are moving forward,
you are growing and becoming stronger.”

Could the devil or the enemies stop those who were filled with the Holy Spirit? No – Moses, Abraham, David, Daniel…they were all able to stand firm, why? Because the Spirit of God made them strong.

When you receive something precious you don’t just keep it anywhere do you? For example, when a person receives their salary they don’t take it all and keep it in their wallet, purse and bag or under the mattress do they? They store it in the bank where they know it can be safe.

The same applies to the Holy Spirit – you have to keep it safe. How do you do that? By continually seeking the presence of God, by taking the things of God seriously. For example, you make it a priority to attend the service Sunday morning, Wednesdays and Fridays because you understand their importance in helping develop your spiritual life.

In short, you push yourself to do what is good and run away from what is bad. By doing so you are moving forward, you are growing and becoming stronger.

Think of it as a muscle. When you stop exercising your muscles get stiff and weak but when you exercise them they are strong and consequently you are fitter! The same applies to faith!

The more you exercise it the stronger it gets!

Thank you for this post. I understand that when we ask God for His Spirit, we must believe we have already recieved it. Doubts is what neutralises faith and the devil will also try to bring them after we have seeked the presence of God but as you said, if we have given our all to God and decided to leave the bad life, then why doubt? Believe we have the Spirit of God and He will strengthen us and guide us.

Pastor Luke,
I now understand that I have to believe that I already received the Holy Spirit and then we abandon our old ways and become someone new. I know now that I need to do this so the Holy Spirit then come to me.

Good title Pastor Luke, belief honestly I think is hard for many people. But reading this makes it easier to understand how you can use belief to succeed in life. How believing in yourself can help you in many ways.
