Don't Quit!

When things go wrong
as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging
seems all uphill,
When you're feeling low
and the stress is high,
And you want to smile
but you have no sigh,
When worries are getting you down a bit...
By all means pray - and don't you quit.
Success is failure turned inside out,
God's hidden gift in the clouds of doubt,
You never can tell how close you are -
It may be near when it seems so far.
So trust in the Lord
when you're hardest hit...
It's when things go wrong
that you must not quit!

Thanks for the poem, Pastor.
It's when we're closest to our goal that the voices that say "quit" speak the loudest. I've learned to realize that when things get even tougher, that's when I know I'm going in the right direction.

Hello Pastor Luke,

Great Poem:-)
It is so true, we may feel that we are so far from reaching our goals and getting to were we want to be, when in reality we are much closer than what we think. All we need to do is trust in God and not quit.
Thank you for the message.

Sincerely,
Kenia Rivas

This poem reminds me of climbing a mountain. At the beginning all is well, you are even smiling and looking forward to the challenge. But the moment you reach closer to the top, obstacles come, you get tired, weary and you fill like giving up. But its at this moment where we have to keep on climbing keep going because we are very close to our destination.

Thanks for the posting the poem.

I thought the poem very strong & true. Its when things are in the worst situation that you have to persevere & keep going. The Lord is always watching and our attitudes are always stronger than words.
