Do you know Samson, strong guy from the Bible? Many people think his power was in his hair. WRONG. It was in his pact with God. 


Also, many people blame delilah for Samson's fall. WRONG again. It was Samson himself. 


Let's go back in time.


Samson received his strength from God. According to bible, "the Spirit of the LORD began to move upon him".


Through his immense strength and power Samson tore down the gates of a city, he tore up a lion with his bare hands and killed 1,000 enemy soldiers with the swing of a jawbone of a donkey. The type of thing that you only see in movies today. But here is the thing, he actually DID IT. It was like Samson was the Thor, or the Superman at the time, but for real. No special effects. No fantasy.


He was a hero for the Israelites.


Now, as we already know, the devil is always looking for ways to get to us. No matter who we are, the position we hold, if we're rich or poor. He doesn't care. All he wants is to impede God's people from succeeding.


And that's exactly what he did to Samson. He found a way to get to him. And it was Samson's heart. The devil knows very well that “the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked." 


You see, Samson was so strong, bold, courageous, audacious, but he was defeated by his own heart. Delilah was just an instrument in the devil's hands.

Ah, If You Only Knew...

Some of you, by now, must be going through a 'desert'. Desert here means being persecuted by your family, friends, co-workers, people in school, all because of your new-found faith.

The flesh is shouting for girls, boys, for a relationship. By the way, normally, they are the ones who you used to have a crush on in the past or the ones that, physically, one cannot say 'no'! Still wondering why?

You've sacrificed to God. You've laid your life on God's altar and decided to serve Him.

I tell you, the devil knows you're on the way to something great.

Do you think he will watch you succeed, specially now that you've decided to serve God?

Compare your situation to when the Israelites were about to leave Egypt and go their way to Sinai, to sacrifice to their God and serve Him as a free nation. 

Pharaoh played mind games. Deep inside he knew they had become stronger as a nation and had already out numbered the egyptians. His only hope was to convince them they were weak and just a bunch of slaves. (Exodus 1:9)

Still, he didn't give up easily, even after the death of the first-born. He climbed up his chariot, his soldiers mounted their horses and they came after the children of Israel. They tried to hold them back, to stop them somehow.

The Israelites thought that after the last plague Pharaoh would surrender.

The egyptians only surrended when they got to the Red Sea, when they all drowned.

Israel had to keep focused. God was by their side. He had their back, if you know what I mean.

The devil knows how strong you are, strong like a wild horse. The strength you have inside you makes him afraid, makes him pee on his 'pants'. 

A horse is 100 times stronger than a human being and yet it allows us to mount it. If the horse only knew his strengh...

You are the horse. The devil is afraid of you. He knows that once you exert this strengh and make use of your faith in God, you become unstoppable!

Go in this faith. Don't look back. The devil is afraid of you. 

Remember, all you're going through now is temporary. Keep your eyes on the promise.
